I have always been an avid reader of science-fiction and fantasy. I don't paint fan-art of any author's particular works, but rather follow my own creative inspiration for subject matter. I tend towards the "imaginative-realism" style, and prefer the oil paint medium. I use a masonite board base rather than canvas because of its smooth surface, durability, and shipping ease. I also attend the annual Illuxcon convention. It is an event that promotes the creation of art in the imaginative-realism style.
